Maryam is writer/director of shorts Bahar (Short Circuit) and Bloody Love (SFTN), and her feature, Birthright is in development with Screen Scotland. For TV she’s written for Vigil S2 (BBC), Lockerbie: A Search for Truth (Sky) and Counsels (BBC). An EIFF Talent Lab 2022 alumna and Screen International Rising Star Scotland 2024.

Alysia founded Glasgow-based production company Moquette Films with a mission to tell exciting stories from distinct, marginalised and unheard voices.  She has produced internationally recognised shorts for BFI Network, SFTN, Short Circuit and Film4, and has a number of features in development, including Maryam Hamidi’s BIRTHRIGHT with Screen Scotland

Shirine Best (she/her) 

Shirine is a Vision Award winning producer who’s Sundance nominated debut feature Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist saw her included in the BIFA longlist for emerging producers. Through her company Other Productions, her projects have received funding from the BBC’s Small Indie Fund, The BFI, DFI, Netflix, Screen Scotland and ITV.
