She was Highly Commended for the Bridport Prize, and shortlisted for various awards for her short fiction. Her story ‘Subsidence’ was runner-up in the 2025 Harper’s Bazaar Short Story Competition.

Ainsley Bowman is a film director with a fine art background, creating meticulously art-directed, painterly worlds that centre women’s experiences. Pairing heightened imagery with conceptual depth, her work spans documentary, music and commercial projects, has screened at BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival and received recognition from Promo News and Berlin Music Video Awards.
