James Ley is a writer/director living in Glasgow. A Screen Rising Star Scotland 2026, his debut short Sleazy Tiger premiered at Palm Springs ShortFest and Edinburgh International Film Festival. He’s adapting his fringe first award-winning stage play Ode to Joy as his first feature, with support from Screen Scotland.

Laura McBride is an Edinburgh-based producer who, alongside John McKay founded Compact. Compact’s work is based on a passion for and direct relationships with the next generation of female, diverse and under-represented filmmakers from Scotland, and beyond. Laura was named a Screen International Rising Star Scotland 2026.
